Central Illinois received some major snow over Ground Hogs Day! Village of Tilton was well prepared days before the storm was expected to hit our area. Public Works director, T.J. George transitioned his team to 12 hour shifts to ensure we had continuous plowing operations to help maintain the towns roadways.
This storm was stretched across a two-day span with two separate systems. Ice, Snow, and Blowing snow was packed into this storm. The crews worked throughout the night to clear roads. As of Friday, February 4, 2022 the roads were mostly clear. The crews are continuing to treat the roads and get them back to normal.
Special thank you to all the extra personnel that came out to assist with snow removal.
