A Village Administrator, appointed by the President and Board, executes the governing body’s directives and provides background information and analysis for the President and Board to make its decisions. The Village Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the Village.
The duties of the Village Administrator shall be to:
A. Aid and assist the Mayor in the formulation and development of policies, programs and procedures, as determined or established by the Mayor and Board of Trustees, and to administer, supervise and direct implementation of such policies, programs and procedures;
B. Provide for the collection, development and dissemination of information and related reports on various topics concerning the business and affairs of the Village;
C. Monitor and direct the general operations, business and affairs of all departments and divisions of the Village, and to provide for effective communication among the various departments and divisions of the Village, including coordinated planning of the various activities and duties thereof; provided, however, that nothing contained herein shall be construed to alter the lawful powers and duties of the Mayor as provided by law or to remove any direction and supervision vested in the Village Clerk as provided by law with respect to his office;
D. Work with the Mayor and Board of Trustees to establish the policy considerations for and to compile, in conjunction with the Village Treasurer and other staff, an annual budget for consideration by the Mayor and Board of Trustees, including such fiscal planning as may be appropriate to maintain efficient programs and procedures for any such fiscal planning requirements of the Village;
E. Assist the Mayor in enforcement of all laws and ordinances within the Village;
F. Perform such other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Mayor or Board of Trustees; and,
G. Hire assistants as may be necessary to carry out the duties set forth herein.
